IN COLLABORATION WITH IMDA, GOOGLE AND SAT KIDS
Code In The Community (CITC) is Singapore’s most extensive program providing free coding classes to get children from disadvantaged backgrounds interested in coding.
Learning Model
In the Code in the Community program, each child will go through an 8-week curriculum consisting of a two-hour lesson each week.
Children 8 to 12 years old will learn Scratch, while 13 to 16 year olds will learn Python programming.
Eligibility
Family per capita income: Less than or equal to $1000
Curriculum

Students will learn how to create their animated mini-games and learn the basics of computational thinking with Scratch!

Be introduced to basic computer science concepts with Python! From Binary Code to Debugging, you’ll build the necessary foundations for you to build projects and create exciting games.

Level 2 Applications programme for graduates of the foundational programme.
It will incorporate a maker element to encourage students to apply their learnings and introduce more complex concepts like design thinking to solve defined problems.
Students will build multi-dimensional robots using straws and program them with a micro: bit and their skills using Python.
The Level 1 Foundational and Level 2 Application programmes will be structured as a 16-hour curriculum spread across 8 weeks.
